I know how difficult it can be to find a therapist best suited to your needs or those of your child. My hope is that your search ends here.

My name is Hollie French, and I am a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Lafayette, LA.

I use both Art Therapy and traditional talk therapy (Counseling) to:

  • help individuals find unique and creative solutions to problems,

  • provide support through difficult times,

  • and assist in overcoming life's challenges.

I set out to create a genuine, supportive relationship with every client I serve so that together we can identify problems and obstacles, develop a plan, and work together to find solutions. Because none of us can do it all alone. We need one another to thrive, love, heal, and live up to our potential. I will strive to help you or your loved one develop the skills needed to feel more capable to meet life's challenges and demands, and nurture loving, healthy relationships with others. With children, I aim to assist in increasing their cooperation, developing their confidence, and improving their social skills so that as they continue to grow and develop, they feel they can meet life's challenges and feel more connected to those around them.

Art Therapy uses the process of art-making along with the artwork itself to facilitate emotional expression, increase self-awareness, assist in problem-solving, and cope with overwhelming emotions, in addition to many other benefits. More here.

Traditional talk therapy may be used alongside art therapy depending on your needs, goals, and preferences.  I have an eclectic approach and utilize a number of therapeutic perspectives, which I tailor to each individual and/or family. More here.

Group or family therapy may be used alongside individual therapy or on its own. Group therapy can increase sense of connection with others when we feel isolated and alone. Family therapy can address conflicts and work to improve communication and relationships amongst family members. More here.
